FLASH TRANSIT APP

UX RESEARCH - PERSONAS - WIREFRAMES

PROJECT OVERVIEW

For this project, I was challenged to produce the framework of a product designed to compete with an existing digital product. I chose the Presto card system as a competing product because compared to other cards systems around the world, the Presto system falls short.

For my research I observed and conducted interviews with transit riders to find out what they like and dislike about the system. The main issues that came up were online payments and tap-offs. Presto users have to wait up to 24 hours to see an updated balance on their account if they choose to top-up their card online. In addition, forgetting to tap-off the card on a reader, can cause a large sum to be debited from a customer's account balance depending on his/her location, when they tap their card the next time.

Based on this research I chose to develop a competing card system called Flash that would tackle these issues.
